Minibus Driver Awareness Scheme (MiDAS) Training & Assessment
The MiDAS course is a nationally recognised training scheme which includes the training and assessment of anyone driving a minibus. The scheme is aimed at people driving minibuses for school/youth groups and others who may be driving voluntarily. The training is transferrable across any employer who adopts the scheme.
Who Should Attend?
The training should be attended by anyone driving a minibus for transporting young people. It is mandatory for anyone driving a minibus in a Rochdale BC or Bury Council school to attend a course and keep a current certificate.
What does the course involve?
The Minibus Driver Awareness Scheme training is split in to a theory session and a practical driving assessment. The theory session will be based indoors and usually a full morning will be spent on this. There will be a test at the end of the theory session. The afternoon (or other arranged date*) will be spent one-to-one looking at your practical driving skills and getting some valuable experience driving a minibus.
* Because of the time constraints of the course some driving assessments may take place on an alternative date by arrangement.
